| Black Bean And Sausage Posole Recipe |

Ingredients
12 oz ground turkey sausage
1 can reduced-sodium chicken broth; (14.5 oz.)
1 can black beans; (15 oz.) rinsed and drain
1 can golden hominy; (14.5 ounce) rinsed and d
1 can mexican-style stewed tomatoes; (14.5 ounce) not drained
1 cup frozen loose-pack diced hash browns
1/2 cup sweet green peppers; chopped
1/3 cup onion; chopped
1 clove garlic; minced
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon dried oregano; crushed
Cooking Directions:
In large saucepan, brown sausage. Add green pepper, onion, garlic and cook until tender. Stir in broth, black beans, hominy, tomatoes, potatoes, chili powder and oregano. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer 30 minutes.
Serves 6.
NOTES : Made 11-6-97. Added 1/2 tsp. more chili powder and 1 green chili, chopped. Used Jimmy Dean pork sausage.
