Ingredients
12 slice white bread slices -- crusts
1 removed
3 tablespoon butter -- to spread on
1 bread
1/2 cup butter
1/2 lb mushrooms
2 cup onions -- finely chopped
1 lb italian sausage
1 lb cheddar cheese -- grated
5 whole eggs
2 1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon dry mustard
3 teaspoon dijon mustard
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 salt and pepper -- to taste
Cooking Directions:
Butter bread, set aside.
Melt 1/2 cup butter, saute onions & mushrooms.
Grease 13 x 9 casserole. Layer 1/2 bread, mushrooms & onions, sausage, & cheese.
Mix eggs, milk, mustards, nutmeg, salt, & pepper. Pour over casserole, cover and refrigerate overnight.
Bake uncovered in a 350 degree oven for 1 hour.
