Ingredients
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 cup cooking oil
1 cup cane syrup
1 cup boiling water
2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
2 1/2 cup flour
2 eggs; beaten
1 cup nuts; optional
Cooking Directions:
Mix soda in boiling water; add syrup. Mix dry ingredients together; combine the two mixture; add oil. Add beaten eggs last; nuts optional. An electric mixer is not necessary. Pour mixture into a greased and floured loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes.
