Ingredients

3 cup large white onions, sliced
1/2 cup vinegar
1/3 cup mayonnaise, (to 1/2)
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoon favorite herb (maybe dill or celery; seed)
1 lettuce, optional
1 capers, optional



Cooking Directions:

Put the onions in a glass bowl, add the vinegar, and then add enough water to cover, soak for 3 hours, drain, add the mayonnaise, salt, and herbs.

Serve as a side dish or over lettuce as a salad. Salad can be topped with capers. Keeps in refrigerator for weeks.
