Beef Paprika Recipe
Category: Beef / Entrees
Rating: N/A
Servings: 6

Ingredients

2 lb beef for stew
1/2 lb onions
1 tablespoon butter
2 garlic cloves
3 cup beef broth
1/2 teaspoon marjoram
1/2 teaspoon caraway seeds
1 brown sugar
2 teaspoon paprika
1 salt and pepper
2 tablespoon cornstarch

Cooking Directions:

Cube the beef. Peel and slice the onions and put them in a casserole dish with the butter. Heat on HIGH for 3-5 minutes. Add the beef, peeled and crushed garlic, broth, marjoram, caraway seeds, pinch of brown sugar, paprika and seasoning. Put a small plate on top of the meat to keep it inder the juices and cover the casserole with a lid. Cook on HIGH for 10 minutes, then simmer for 75 minutes. Remove the cover and plate. Mix the cornstarch to a paste with a little cold water and stir into the stew. Heat on HIGH for 5 minutes until thickened. Source: The Cook's Color Treasury : edited by Norma MacMillan : Page 47
