Ingredients
1 quart peas or butter beans
1 1/2 quart water; (1 1/2 to 2)
1 salt and pepper to taste
1 piece salt meat or; (6 oz.)
2 large ham hocks
1 onion; chopped
Cooking Directions:
In a 4 to 6-quart pan, bring water and salt meat to boil. Add peas or butter beans and chopped onions. Lower heat to medium and cover pot. Cook 2 hours, until tender, but not mushy.
