Ingredients

1 lb dried great northern beans
1 ham bone
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
1/2 teaspoon celery salt
1 dash garlic salt
1 salt and pepper to taste



Cooking Directions:

Soak beans in cold water overnight. Drain. Put in soup kettle and add cold water to cover, about 10-12 cups. Add ham bone and cook slowly for 2 hours. Remove ham bone and trim meat from bone. Add onion, seasoned salt, celery salt and garlic salt to kettle. Return bone and ham bits to soup kettle. Simmer for 1 hour. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Makes 3 quarts, serves 8-10.
