Apple Macadamia Bake Recipe

Ingredients

1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
3 tablespoon coarsely chopped macadamias; walnuts, or pecans
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 1/2 tablespoon butter or margarine; cut into small pieces
7 cup peeled & thinly sliced cooking appl; e
2 tablespoon apricot preserves



Cooking Directions:

Combine first 5 ingredients in a bowl. Cut in margarine with a pastry blender until mixture is crumbly. Place thinly sliced apple in a lightly greased 8-inch square baking dish; drop apricot preserves by teaspoonfuls onto apple slices, and sprinkle evenly with flour mixture. Bake at 375° for 35 minutes or until golden.

Makes 6 servings. Kitchen Express: Substitute 2 (12-ounce) packages frozen scalloped apples, thawed, for fresh apples.

Notes: Select tart, green-skinned Granny Smiths for cakes and pies.
